Some of my professional work

Whew! Quite a long while since I last posted here! Sorry guys, was busy as a bee working as an animator and a freelance illustrator! :)

Well here are a few of my animation work that I did in Vaibhav Studios. I hope you'll like it!

^ Was a lot of fun working on this Bengali woman! I sort of took inspiration from one of my aunts who's just as nagging because she has to do all the housework while her husband simply lazes around! Haha!

This was a winners announcement clip of a contest (also animated by us) for Disney Channel India. We did more of such clips. Check them out here (the Punjabi family clip was done by me too)
.... ....

These TV spots below were done for Nickelodeon India and were directed by the incredible Rajiv Eipe. Absolutely loved working on his crazy ideas!

^ Animated the Astronaut, the Lizard, and the Auto Rickshaw (not the driver).

^ Animated the hill, the ant electrocuted, TeeVee (yes that's his name) diving, and the two crazy dudes chasing around in love.

^ Animated TeeVee, among a few others.

^ Animated the opening shot, the caterpillar getting high, among a few others.

All work copyright of Vaibhav Studios.

'Look Ma! I'm hands free!!' - health update

Hey guys work's been really hectic which is why I haven't been able to update my blog with any of my personal work lately! I'll definitely try and upload some. Meanwhile I thought I'd update you with my health condition. As you can see from the video, it's been quite a remarkable progress (touch wood) compared to my last update. I can now manage to walk without any support at all, but only smaller distances. Otherwise I use my stick. The walker's almost gone.

The doc says it shouldn't take much time now for me to recover completely. I still have a cast plaster around my left leg which should go away within a few months, after which he'll make me walk on a PTB brace. Soon I should be able to run. Haha!!

But on the brighter side, I can now drive a car and even manage to cycle! So things are definitely coming around now!

Nearly there now, guys, nearly there! :)

Devils Angels and Dating - short film

It gives me immense pleasure to kick start this New Year on my blog with this wonderful film I was a part of. It's my first ever experience in working in a production on a global scale (online). Although I worked on only one shot, I did learn an enormous lot, thanks to the awesomely talented (and patient) director Michael Cawood! (Here's the entire thread on the WIPs along with Mike's notes if you'd like to read.)

BTW this entire film was made based purely on sheer volunteer work. That's right, no budget!! It's amazing what a team can achieve given the right direction.

Another reason why this film is special to me is because it came to me as a boon during my bed rest period. Due to my accident, I lost my job and I was looking for that one opportunity to prove my mettle. Things looked bleak because I physically couldn't go to work anywhere. And nothing really challenging came my way via freelance!

That's when I stumbled upon this project and since then, there's been no looking back! My friend Sathya deserves a special mention here for introducing me to it. :)

So I really thank Mike for taking me in and giving me this golden opportunity to be a part of a global team.

Looking forward to being a part of more of such great adventures.

P.S. The film is translated to different languages on YouTube. Just click on the 'CC' button.

P.S. 2: Here's the shot I animated... (YouTube link, in case Vimeo doesn't work)

EDIT: Devils recently reached 2 million views (as of 2014). To celebrate this, Mike interviewed his teammates and I was one of them. It was fun to relieve those wonderful days while working for Mike. Here's the interview! :)
